Five years ago today, I met Josh.
I’m embarrassed to admit that HE had to remind ME of this fact. He has a crazy memory about some things.
Like, “Remember the last time we were here? You were wearing a blue dress and I was talking to someone about how Radiohead’s sound has evolved and we were both drinking that cherry stout…?”
…Um. Sure.
I guess I kind of like that (in some ways) we defy the stereotype. Sometimes I’m the lazy boorish one who needs to be reminded of important dates. We would make an awful sitcom. Maybe I should work on being more of a shrew and he should work on being more of an oaf.
Or not.

Don't worry… neither of us can remember when we met. All we know is that it was sometime in March. Our first dating anniversary we bought a ridiculously expensive bottle of wine and cracked it open on what we thought was the exact day we met… only later to find an email that clearly indicated that we'd already met by that date. Ooops. Luckily our wedding rings have the wedding date (and each other's names) engraved on the inside so even our most senile moments… we can't forget when our anniversary is and to whom we are married!

Also, the boy apparently remembers when we first met. I was too busy checking out some other guy to have been paying attention. Whoops. I remember him every day now, though, so that counts, right?

aww yay! I met zach 5 years ago too, except it was sometime last month, neither of us are sure of the exact day. way to go Josh brain. also that photobooth set is ADORBS.

Neither of us remember the exact date we met (or, um, that long-ago day in fall 2003 when I walked up to him and said, "I think you're really cool, and you should be my friend."). I think it was probably sometime in early October.
As for the day we "became official," he thought it was July 10th, I thought it was July 12th. So, in the spirit of compromise, we celebrate our anniversary on July 11th.
